UK Cybersecurity Trade Mission to Taiwan

The British Office Taipei is inviting UK cybersecurity firms to join a trade mission to Taiwan.

The British Office Taipei is exploring interest from UK cybersecurity companies in joining a trade mission to Taiwan, proposed for 2 to 3 November 2026. Taiwan faces more than 2.6 million cyberattacks every day, with government, critical national infrastructure (CNI) and strategic industries on the digital front line, and its National Cybersecurity Strategy 2025 has made cybersecurity a national security priority, focused on infrastructure resilience, supply chain security, AI security and whole-of-society preparedness. This is backed by the Ministry of Digital Affairs' Phase 7 Cybersecurity Development Programme, which has allocated NTD 8.8 billion (approximately £220 million) to strengthening cyber resilience and next-generation capabilities, with the domestic market forecast to grow from around £688 million in 2025 to over £840 million by 2029.

The mission aims to give participants market insights and direct engagement with government stakeholders, CNI operators, law enforcement, industry partners and research organisations, while showcasing UK products, services and expertise across Taiwan's cybersecurity ecosystem. It is expected to run immediately ahead of Taiwan's Advanced Cybersecurity Exploration (ACE) Conference, giving companies the option to extend their visit. Subject to sufficient interest, participants will be able to choose between two tracks: Critical National Infrastructure, or Law Enforcement.

The tentative programme includes an optional virtual preparation session two weeks before the mission, covering stakeholder priorities and pitch preparation. Day one features an in-person briefing on Taiwan's cybersecurity landscape, market opportunities and procurement, followed by meetings and pitching sessions with government and CNI providers. Day two covers engagement with industry partners, research organisations and potential local collaborators, alongside a law enforcement workshop and further stakeholder sessions. The final programme, locations and stakeholder participation will depend on company capabilities, stakeholder availability and the level of interest received.

The British Office Taipei is particularly keen to hear from companies with expertise in:

• CNI protection, cyber resilience and OT/ICS security

• Threat intelligence, security operations and incident response

• Digital forensics, cybercrime investigation and fraud prevention

• AI security, supply chain and semiconductor security

• Cybersecurity testing, assurance and compliance

• Post-quantum cryptography and other emerging technologies

Participation costs £500 (payable in TWD equivalent) for up to two delegates per company, covering programme delivery, venue hire, transport within Taiwan and post-mission follow-up. Participants are responsible for their own flights, accommodation and personal expenses. The mission is subject to sufficient industry interest to proceed.

UK cybersecurity firms with relevant expertise are invited to submit an expression of interest by 11:59pm (UK time) on Monday 31 August 2026. The selection process will conclude by 7 September 2026, with offers to participate communicated to successful applicants shortly after.
